This latest confirmed measles case in Wisconsin is a fifth grader at SC Johnson Elementary School.  Stephanie Kratochvil-Hayden, spokeswoman for the Racine Unified School District, says the illness was confirmed late Monday by city health officials.  However, the State Health Department says the case is still considered a "probable" infection at this time, while they await the results of lab tests.

Kratochvil-Hayden says on Tuesday morning all of the school's staff was notified, and parents are being contacted about the sick child. The district is waiting for direction from Racine health officials on the next step of this case.

Four cases of measles were confirmed earlier this month in the Milwaukee area. Until then the state had not seen any cases of measles since 2005.
