Wisconsin is playing host this week to some real heroes.

Honored for their bravery with the nation's highest military honor, sixty-nine of the one hundred and ten living recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor and are gathering in Green Bay.

Brad Toll, the CEO of the Packer Country Visitors and Convention Bureau, says it's a first for the state. A week of events are planned many open to the public. It was designed that way Toll says, so as many people as possible have a chance to meet a real hero.

There will be autograph sessions, a nearly sold out Medal of Honor Concert that Toll predicts will not leave a dry eye in the house and a Patriot's Award Dinner where Brett and Deanna Favre will be presented with a special award.

The Medal recipients will also be honored during pre-game ceremonies at Sunday's Packers game.

Two honorees graduated from the same Wisconsin high school. Menasha High. One in 1926. The other in 1962.

There are four living Medal recipients from Wisconsin. Two of them, Navy Capt. Thomas Hudner of Osh Kosh and Army Sgt. Major Ken Stumpf of Menasha, have Medal of Honor Scholarships established in their honor.

Heroes from World War Two on are taking part, all with some amazing stories to tell.
