Phil Mickelson and Hunter Mahan have clinched berths on the United States team for the 38th Ryder Cup, to be held Oct. 1-3 at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

Mickelson has led the U.S. points list throughout 2010 and will make his eighth consecutive Ryder Cup appearance.  Mahan locked up a spot on his second U.S. Ryder Cup Team with a victory Sunday at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.

Based on the point system utilized by The PGA of America, six more U.S. players will qualify for the team after conclusion of play this week at the 92nd PGA Championship in Kohler, Wis.

Among those expected to qualify is Steve Stricker, who currently ranks 4th in Ryder Cup Points.  Stricker said he’s excited to play in another Ryder Cup.
