The upcoming blockbuster Transformers 3 will feature a scene with a well known Milwaukee landmark. Dave Fantle of Film Wisconsin says they’ve been working with the studio since November. Director Michael Bay came to town in December and “fell in love” with the building. Despite Bay’s reputation for explosions and pyrotechnics, the museum, best known for its mobile wing-span sun breaker, will reportedly remain intact during the shooting.

Transformers 3 will be shooting for six weeks in Chicago where it’s predicted the windy city will see $20 million in expenditures. During the few days of production this July in Milwaukee, Fantle says it’s conceivable the project could bring a million dollars to the local economy.

Fantle says potential shoots in other spots in Wisconsin’s largest city, including the former Tower Automotive site, are still being negotiated.
