A Milwaukee man is dead, following an officer-involved shooting in Walworth County. According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, the shooting occurred during a drug investigation in East Troy Wednesday evening, after the driver of a suspect vehicle failed to follow commands from officers.
A deputy discharged his weapon at the vehicle, hitting one of the occupants. The car then sped from the scene on to Interstate-43, leading police on a high speed chase, before crashing in nearby Muskego.
Twenty-one year-old Christopher Davis of Milwaukee suffered a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The names of two additional suspects, who were arrested after fleeing the scene, have not been released. Both are being held in the Waukesha County Jail.
The deputy, a 30-year-old officer who has been with the department since 2012, has been placed on administrative leave. The state Department of Justice is handling the investigation.
