Milwaukee Police are seeking suspects in a pair of weekend murders that raised the city’s total for the year to 144. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the numbers are way up from the 86 homicides in 2014. Police released the names of the two latest victims on Monday. Thirty-eight year old Travis Thomas was found shot-to-death Saturday night on Milwaukee’s north side. Police say 18-year-old Joshua Woods was shot Friday night by a man who approached him, and it’s not clear if the victim knew the shooter.
As of Monday morning, there had been 144 homicides in the city of Milwaukee in 2015, according to preliminary data maintained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
