One of the brightest young stars in racing, Simona de Silvestro, is in
Milwaukee today, where she’ll make her Milwaukee Mile debut next month in the Milwaukee 225 on Father’s Day weekend.
The Switzerland native finished a career best 4th in the season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida, and recorded the fastest race lap in last week’s Sao Paulo, Brazil street race. She’s hosting a media luncheon in Milwaukee today.
Simona de Silvestro will be one of three female drivers competing in the Milwaukee 225 on June 19th, being joined by Danica Patrick and Ana Beatriz in the 26-driver field.
That fathers day field will also include defending Indy 500 and series champion Dario Franchitti, 2009 Milwaukee 225 winner Scott Dixon, 2008 Milwaukee 225 winner Ryan Briscoe, current IZOD IndyCar Series point leader Will Power, two-time Milwaukee 225 winner Tony Kanaan and three-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves.
