The state Senate is set to vote on a minimum wage bill. The proposal from Senate Majority Leader, Russ Decker, would be the second increase in two years, and would make future increases automatic. The bill would bump the minimum wage from its current $6.50 per hour to $7.25 per hour.

Tom Dohm is President of Wisconsin Independent Businesses . "To have automatic increases for everybody in every wage sector is just not a good idea," says Dohm, who adds that it's up to lawmakers to approve increases to the minium wage, "not the Department if Workforce Development." While the Democrat controlled Senate takes up the measure today, it's unlikely to come to a vote in the Assembly.
