With the Badgers getting ready for the NCAA Frozen Four semifinals tomorrow against R.I.T., Inside College Hockey has selected Badger forward Blake Geoffrion as its College Hockey Player of the Year.
As a member of the Hobey Baker Hat Trick, Geoffrion leads the WCHA in goals with 27 and is second nationally in the same category. His 14 power-play goals top any other player in the country, and his 48 total points lands him at third on one of the nation’s top-scoring teams.
Inside College Hockey has already named Geoffrion’s teammate Brendan Smith the Defenseman of theYear. The two represent the Cardinal and White on Inside College Hockey’s All-American First Team.
Geoffrion looks to lead the Badgers to the team’s seventh national title this week in Detroit. Wisconsin (27-10-4) battles the RIT Tigers (28-11-1) in the national semifinal game, set for 4pm on Thursday.
