With a statewide average sitting at around $4 a gallon in Wisconsin, prices have crossed a new threshold.

Pam Moen with AAA Wisconsin says it's sad and frustrating for many people, because the prices are so out of our control. However, so many people reply on putting fuel in their car to get where they need to go.

Moen says the high prices are forcing many people to change their summer vacation plans. They're either cutting back on how far they'll travel or how long they'll be on the road. Moen says many people will also buy fewer souvenirs, eat out less often, and visit few tourist locations because of prices at the pump.
