I spent most of Saturday golfing in my favorite outing of the golf season.  It's the "Autism of the Fox Valley" outing.  I've grown very fond of this group and try to do as much as I can for them.  I don't know what it's like to have a child with  Autism and the strain it puts on a family's time and budget.  I just know I want to help.  It's a great cause.

I got home just in time to see the Belmont Stakes.  What a disappointment.  A horse (Big Brown) with an attitude.  How does this happen.  Triple Crown's aren't won every day.  It would have been something to see.  But last place?  Wow!

I also saw that Television Sports ICON Jim McKay passed away over the weekend.  I missed out on some of his early stuff, but what a legend.  I liked McKay for many reasons.  The one that stands at the top is his versatility.  McKay was solid at everything.  We always say we're going to miss someone famous who passes on.  But I'm truly going to miss Jim McKay.

If you're a tennis fan and you spent time watching the men's French Open championship, do you get a refund?  Rafael Nadal absolutely demolished Roger Federer in straight sets (6-1, 6-3, 6-LOVE).  Not a great final for a spot that probably needed a shot in the arm.

The WIAA State boys baseball tournament opens up on Tuesday at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.  Division 1 quarterfinals and semifinals are on day 1.  –  They're still trying to find a Division 1 girls softball winner.  Stevens Point and Verona are through 2 innings in a scoreless tie.  Rain suspended the contest and it will be resumed tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon.

And last, but not least, how typical are the Milwaukee Brewers ?  They win six straight, then head out on the road to face the struggling Colorado Rockies.  The Brewers drop the first two in the series before salvaging the final game of the series yesterday, 3-2.  Way to go!  The Brewers are off today.  They'll face the Astros in Houston tomorrow night.
