With just one week left before opening day (April 1 vs. Colorado), lefty Chris
Narveson served up 6-runs on 8 hits and 5 walks in 3 2/3 innings as the Milwaukee Brewers fell 9-7 to the Oakland A’s. The big blow off of Narveson was a 4th inning grand slam by Oakland’s Chris Young.
Josh Donaldson also homered and Scott Sizemore had 4 hits and 2 rbi’s for the A’s, backing Bartolo Colon who gave up 3 runs and 6 hits over 5 innings in his third start. Colon will have to sit out the first five games of the season while completing his 50-game suspension for a positive drug test last year.
Mark Rogers
Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitcher Mark Rogers, with his velocity way down,
could open the season on the disabled list.
Rogers is no longer a candidate for a spot in the starting rotation. Because he’s out of options, his likely landing spot for the time being is on the disabled list. That would allow Rogers to focus on strengthening the arm in hopes of returning to the Brewers pitching staff.
Rogers isn’t scheduled to pitch again before the Brewers break camp on Thursday.
