The nation’s governors convene in Milwaukee this weekend.

Governors from across the country will discuss a variety of issues facing the states at the National Governors Association (NGA) summer meeting. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is a member of the NGA Executive Committee and host of this event. He says the meeting is an important bipartisan forum for sharing state experiences and discussing the critical issues of the day. The governors face many similar challenges and can learn from each other’s experiences.

The opening session will focus on employing people with disabilities. The group will also discuss economic development, commerce, and cyber-security. The bipartisan group of governors will visit Miller Park and some will enjoy a motorcycle ride to celebrate the 110th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson.

Walker says he looks forward to showcasing Wisconsin to his colleagues.

Sessions officially begin today (Friday, August 2). Official business will conclude on Sunday.
