Defending national champion UW-Whitewater will host Franklin College (Ind.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship this Saturday (Nov. 20) at noon.

The Warhawks (10-0) received an automatic bid into the 32-team field by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) for the sixth straight season, while Franklin (9-1) claimed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title.

Whitewater has reached the national championship game (Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl) five straight years and captured titles in 2007 and 2009.

The only other Wisconsin school in the field is St. Norbert College(7-3).  The Green Knights won the Midwest Conference and will face North Central College (10-0) in Naperville, Illinois on Saturday at noon.

St. Norbert College will be making its 9th Division 3 playoff appearance and 8th in the last 12 years.
