A Nekoosa man is facing felony charges, after investigators say he fatally stabbed his sister’s kitten. 25-year-old Brian Sentkowski is charged with mistreatment of an animal resulting in death and trespassing.

Sentkowski told Wood County investigators that he went to his sister’s home on November 27 while intoxicated, and was upset with his own drinking and that nobody was home when he arrived. According to the criminal complaint, Sentkowski took out his anger on the first thing he say, stabbing and killing the kitten and discarding its body in a nearby ditch.

Sentkowski remains jailed in Wood County. He will be back in court on January 13. Online court records show that Stankowski was charged in October with second offense drunk driving and also faces a Wood County citation for possessing drug paraphernalia. Trials in both of those cases are set for January 29th.
