Comparing resumes’ was a focus during the second debate between Republican gubernatorial candidates, Scott Walker and Mark Neumann. At the Saturday event, Neumann touted his education which includes a degree in Math Education and a Masters degree in Supervision Instructional Leadership.
Walker defended his decision to leave Marquette University before graduating. “If they were offered a job senior year of college, I think most people these days would take it. That’s what I did at the American Red Cross,” said Walker.
Neumann, a former Congressman who’s also worked 26 years in the home building industry, painted Walker as a career politician.
Walker defended his years on the job as Milwaukee County’s Executive saying he is the only candidate that has inherited the same type of problems that the incoming governor will have to deal with.
The two faced off before a tea party group in Oconomowoc on Saturday. The primary is September 14th. The winner will likely face Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the general election. President Barack Obama will be in the Milwaukee area today to attend a fundraiser for Barrett and the state Democratic Party. The President will also speak to employees at ZBB Energy Corporation and see how they make batteries and fuel cells for renewable energy products.
