A new director is named for Dane County's embattled 911 Center. John DeJung, who's held a similar position in Minneapolis for the past 12 years, says he realizes there have been some high-profile problems with the dispatch center, like the botched Brittany Zimmermann call, but he declines to talk about “shakeups” just yet, but that he's ready to “hit the deck running”
“I'm looking forward to working with the staff of the 911 center,” said DeJung. “I know that there's challenges out there, but there's always challenges in 911 center, as there is in any kind of law enforcement or any kind of public safety. The name of the game here is going to be continuous improvement.”
