The new dean at the Medical College of Wisconsin sees plenty of challenges. Doctor Jonathon Ravdin will take over as Dean and Executive Vice President at the Medical College in Milwaukee in May of 2008. Ravdin wants to focus on the needs of students, noting that a typical student may finish their traininig with debts in excess of $100,000. He'd like to explore ways to decrease that financial burden. He says students and faculty alike have concerns, about how health care is delivered in the U.S. Ravdin also wants the Medical College to help address a projected shortage of rural physicians in Wisconsin. He's currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School, and is also an international leader in infectious diseases.
