Disturbing details emerge in the murder of a developmentally disabled Mazomanie man. Assistant Dane County District Attorney Mary Ellen Karst said 27 year-old Matthew Graville was beaten and shot at with a pellet gun by his half-brother. And, on the night before Matthew’s death, he was waterboarded.
The victim’s half-brother, 28 year-old Jeffrey Voglesburg faces a charge of first degree murder. He’s in custody in Washington state, where he moved following Graville’s murder in July
Bond was set at $100,000 dollars for two other defendants, 28 year-old Robert McCumber and Matthew’s step-mother, 46 year-old Laura Robar.
McCumber was charged with hiding a corpse. He told investigators that he found Graville dead on July 1, and acting on Vogelsberg’s instructions, put the body in a freezer. The two men buried Graville four days later.
Robar was charged with two counts of identity theft. She allegedly used Graville’s Quest card after she knew he was dead.
Graville, who had a form of autism, had shared a home with Voglesburg in Mazomanie. His body was found buried this week near Lone Rock.
