Don't expect any major changes when Deputy Corrections Secretary Rick Raemisch takes over the agency this fall. Raemisch says this is an opportunity to put an exclamation point on an agency that's already headed in the right direction.

Raemisch has served as Deputy Secretary in the DOC for over four years. He'll replace outgoing Secretary Matt Frank, who is moving on to head up the Department of Natural Resources. Raemisch says many of the same priorities will remain in place, such as marinating public safety and preparing offenders for a return to the community after prison.

Raemisch is a former four-term Sheriff of Dane County and worked in the US Attorney's office. He believes that experience makes him perfect to head up DOC.
