Flooding across southern and central Wisconsin this week may have wiped out up to 30 percent of the corn and soybean crops of some farmers. That's according to UW-Madison Ag Agent David Fischer, who says the problem may go beyond crop losses. He says the heavy rains may have resulted in large amount of erosion in fields.

Fischer says there is some positive news, now that water levels are starting to recede. He says that will help farmers to get out into the field to assess the damage and decide what to do with their fields. However, Fischer says it's too late for most farmers to plant another corn crop.
