Republican budget negotiators say they'll vote next week, to fund education and local government aids. Senate Majority Leader Judy Robson wasted no time in criticizing that Republican move during Thursday's session of the legislature's budget conference committee. “The . . stunts and the sideshows won't get the done,” she said. “The budget's going to get done at this table.” But Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch said Republicans are doing what they need to do for the state's property taxpayers. “The bill we will take to the floor next Tuesday . . will give you your (education) budget,” Huebsch said. He challenged the Democrats in the Senate to pass the package and send it to Governor Doyle. He said the Assembly bill is the same as that from Governor Doyle and the Senate, including a $235 million increase in funding for K-12 education, shared revenue funding for local units of government , and a property tax freeze .
