A call to boost renewable energy at the federal level. Dan Kohler is director of the group Wisconsin Environment , and while he says the energy bill signed by President Bush last week is good as far as it goes, more needs to happen. Kohlher would like Congress to pass seperate legislation, mandating a 15% renewables standard by 2020. Kohler says that mandate would give renewables a leg up in the competition with oil and coal, and serve in the long run to make the U.S. more energy independent while offering consumers more choices.
