The NFL is launching an international campaign to take American football to a global audience by announcing that London will host the league's first regular-season game outside North America later this year.

The opponents are expected to be announced during Super Bowl week.  The Miami Dolphins and New York Giants are believed to be front-runners for the game.

Just how far does the NFL plan on pushing this global thing?  It started out as preseason games in foreign places.  Now they're going to a regular season game.

I understand it's an effort by the league to push its product onto foreign soil, allowing the games popularity to spread even further, which should bring more money into the league's coffers.

But what about American football fans.  What about the team that loses that home game and the fans miss out on a chance to be there.  And I bet the soon to be announced teams and their players are just thrilled to be covering a number of time zones.

I can see it coming.  I can see foreign cities coming up with their own teams and becoming a part of the league.  Can you imagine going oversees a couple of times a season.

The NFL needs to stop this nonsense.  Keep America's top game on American soil.  Enough is enough!
