The National Football League says it won't discipline Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett for making contact with an official during a skirmish in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Late in the game, Barnett was tangled up with Bears tackle John Tait. Pushing and shoving soon ensued. That's when umpire Jim Quirk grabbed Barnett around the neck and dragged him down to the ground. Barnett ended up shoving Quirk away.
The whole scene left Packers coach Mike McCarthy surprised and disappointed at the officials reaction.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello says that Barnett is not being reviewed for discipline.
