No murder charges were filed in Rock County court Friday afternoon against James Koepp, in the deaths of Danyetta Lentz and her teenage children, Nicole and Scott Lentz. District Attorney David O'Leary said based upon the investigative reports, discussions with the analyst assigned the case from the state crime laboratory, and a discussion with the pathologist who conducted the autopsies, no criminal charges concerning the deaths will be filed at this time. Rock County Sheriff Bob Spoden said Koepp's arrest was still the right decision, but that the district attorney's decision to prosecute is based on different criteria than the decision to make an arrest.

The 47 year-old Koepp is being held in the Rock County Jail on $60,000 cash bail, on charges related to a high speed chase and drunk driving arrest. Koepp's preliminary hearing on those formal charges is January 29th. The bodies of 38 year-old Danyetta Lentz, 17 year-old Nicole and 14 year-old Scott were found in their mobile home south of Janesville on January 12. Koepp is a resident of the same mobile home park where the Lentz's lived.
