Will March bring us a much-needed break from this cold and yucky winter? Chances are, you’re not going to like the answer.

“No. It does not look like there’s much of a reprieve in sight,” says Meteorologist Ed Townsend with the National Weather Service in Sullivan. “The Climate Prediction Center, going out 8 to 14 days, shows enhanced probability for below normal temperatures.”

“And the one month outlook is the same for March. It’s calling for below normal temperatures,” says Townsend. As for snow, Townsend says there is still uncertainty if we’ll see normal or above normal amounts.

“The three month outlook, going out as far as May, is still calling for increased chances for below normal temperatures,” Townsend says. “So right now, it doesn’t look that good.
