A new resource at Marquette University Law School provides the only pro bono legal assistance of its kind in Wisconsin, according to the program's director Karin Werner. She says the Milwaukee Legal Initiative for Non Profit Organization Director ( M-LINC ) offers help to charities through educational programs and also matches groups up with pro-bono lawyers.

Werner says in these financial strapped times, nonprofits are in need of their services more than ever. She adds many nonprofits cannot afford legal advice and recent laws make operating an organization much more complex.

Marquette law students contribute to M-LINC, and in turn further develop their legal skills.
