Freshman punter, Brad Nortman, was named the Big Ten's Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance against Illinois in Wisconsin 's 27-17 Homecoming win on Saturday.  It's the first award for Nortman and the first time Wisconsin has been awarded the Special Teams award since punter Ken DeBauche was honored on Sept. 27, 2007.

Nortman averaged 51.7 yards per punt against the Illini and placed three kicks inside the 20-yard line, including one that was downed at the 4-yard line.  Nortman booted a career-long punt of 64 yards and continually pinned the dangerous Illinois offense deep in its own territory.

Nortman is the second Badger to receive a weekly award this season.  LB DeAndre Levy was honored as Defensive Player of the Week after his performance at Fresno State on Sept. 13.
