The Wisconsin Badgers managed to score just 24 points in the second half, hitting just 36% from the field, falling to the Indiana Hoosiers 59-58 at Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig had 15 points to lead the Badgers, but both struggled shooting. Hayes hit three-of-13 from the field and Koenig was four-for-12.
The Badgers hit just 16 of their 23 free throw attempts which turned out to be a difference maker. They hit just four-of-16 three-pointers and 19-of-46 overall from the field.
The Badgers let an opportunity get away, falling to 2-2 under Greg Gard, 1-2 in the Big Ten and 9-7 overall.
Yogi Ferrell had a game-high 19 points, including the go-ahead basket with 37-seconds left and four free throws in the closing seconds to lead the Hoosiers to their eighth straight win and a 3-0 start in Big Ten play.
The Badgers return to Madison and will host Maryland on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
