A Wisconssin firm has made an interesting donation. Cynthia LaConte is with Milwaukee based F. Dohman Company . The 150 year-old firm has made a generous gift of pharmaceutical artifacts to the Wisconsin Historical Society . "I think as we look at them today, some of them are the old, herbal compounds and remedies that we've sort of lost touch with in our modren society," says LaConte.

Among the collection was a handful of containers of opium. "In those days it was not regulated," notes LaConte. "It was comonly used." Some of the items will be displayed as part of the museum's Odd Wisconsin exhibit. The F. Dohmen Co. also donated $250,000 to the Historical Society and $500,000 in scholarships to the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy .
