No crime has been committed, but investigators in Polk County are still hoping to find answers in the case of a missing young woman. It’s been one year since 21-year old Rose Marie Bly of rural St. Croix Falls was last seen. Bly left her home the evening of Friday, August 21, 2009 on her way to meet a friend at bar in Cushing, just 6 miles north of St. Croix Falls. She never arrived, and Polk County Sheriff Tim Moore says the case has grown cold.

“There’s been no new information,” Moore says, adding that none of the leads his office has received have panned out. “There are no witnesses. Very little information. Quite frankly, we were told by the FBI that they were surprised to see how many man hours we had poured into this investigation, because there is no crime at this point. We still maintain that we need to be prepared if there is a crime.” Moore says Bly’s husband reported her missing after 24 hours. Her vehicle was found two days later in Grantsburg, fifteen miles north of Cushing.
