Brandon Chillar With a boat-load of money to spend, the Green Bay Packers finally broke through with a free agent deal on Wednesday.

The Packers have come to terms with St. Louis linebacker Brandon Chillar on a two-year deal worth about $5.4-million.  The deal reportedly includes extra incentives that could raise the overall value of the deal to $6.4-million.

Chillar started 41 games over four seasons with the Rams.  He's expected to battle linebacker Brady Poppinga for the starting job at strong side linebacker.

The deal gives the Packers more depth at linebacker as well.  Going into training camp later this summer, the Packers will have Nick Barnett, Brady Poppinga and Brandon Chillar, along with Tracy White, Desmond Bishop and Abdul Hodge.
