Green Bay Packers President & CEO, Mark Murphy, remains optimistic that the NFL owners and the NFL Players Association will reach agreement on a new labor deal.

At a conference at St. Norbert College yesterday, Murphy said he sees no chance of a strike.

The two sides are scheduled to meet next month.  The current deal expires after the upcoming season, with this being an uncapped year.

Meanwhile, Murphy said hosting a Super Bowl at Lambeau Field is very intriguing, even though there’s major issues with a potential bid.  NFL owners voted Tuesday to hold the title game in New York in 2014, bending the rule requiring cities to have an average temperature of 50-degrees or play in a dome.

I think this is a one-time deal for New York.  I also think while the NFL would love to play a Super Bowl at Lambeau Field if the New York game works out, there’s too many obstacles to get past, with a lack of hotel rooms within a 1-hour distance.
