The Green Bay Packers will leave for Dallas today and arrive there mid-afternoon.  The Packers will face the Steelers in Super Bowl 45 on Sunday.  The two teams have a combined 13 Super Bowl appearances, with Pittsburgh tied for the most of any team in the league with eight.  The Packers will be making their fifth Super Bowl appearance.  The Steelers have six Super Bowl crowns, the most of any team.

The two teams have a combined 18 championships.  Green Bay has won 12 titles, more than any other team.

The Packers will arrive in Dallas relatively healthy.  The only player with any injury question is starting linebacker Eric Walden.  Walden sprained his ankle in the win over the Bears.  He was held out of workouts over the weekend t0 give him plenty of time for treatment and rest.  He’s expected to practice starting this Wednesday in Dallas and Mike McCarthy said despite Frank Zombo’s return to action, Walden is still his starter.

The Packers are catching a small break weather-wise, but not like most people expected in Dallas this time of year.

The team won’t practice until Wednesday and will do so at Southern Methodist University’s outdoor stadium because it has FieldTurf.  But that’s weather permitting.  Wednesday’s projected high temperature is only 29-degrees.  The sun returns Thursday and Friday, but temps are expected to top out between 32 and 39-degrees.

The Packers will leave the Mills Fleet Farm Gate in the southwest parking lot of Lambeau Field this morning.  That’s the only opportunity for fans that want to see the team off.

There will be no access to the players at the airport.  Due to security precautions, the team will be traveling via buses directly from Lambeau Field to its charter aircraft at Austin Straubel Airport and therefore will not be walking through the airport terminal.
