rest of the season, the Green Bay Packers received some good news on the injury front on Monday.

The Packers learned that Jennings, who suffered a sprained knee, would only be without their star receiver for 2 to 3 weeks, which means he’ll be back and ready to go for the playoffs.  Mike McCarthy knows his team dodged a bullet.

Jennings injured the knee on a play in the third quarter of Sunday’s win over Oakland.  McCarthy announced at his Monday press conference that the injury was a partial gear or sprain and that Jennings would definitely be back in time for the Packers’ first playoff game the weekend of Jan. 14-15.

McCarthy said they’ll miss Jennings for the next three weeks, but his absence won’t change the way they run the offense.

The Packers are hoping to get James Starks back this week.  Linebacker A.J. Hawk will return, but fellow backer Desmond Bishop is questionable.  Guard Josh Sitton is said to be very close to returning from a knee injury as well.
