The NFL Draft is just a week away (April 26-27).  They'll go into the two day selection process with seven selections in seven rounds.

The format has changed for the first time this year.  The draft won't start until 2pm our time and day one will consist of only two rounds.  But time becomes more precious for the teams.  Last year, teams had fifteen minutes in the first round to make a selection.  The second round was reduced to ten minutes and everything after that went down to five.

This year, round 1 selections are ten minutes apart, round 2 drops down to seven minutes and rounds 3 through 7 are five minutes apart.

The Packers have the 30th pick in the opening round with two more selections in round two, 56th and 60th.

The Packers, despite finishing 13-3 in the regular season a year ago, will be looking to once again add depth.  They team's key needs are cornerback, quarterback, tightend and offensive line depth.

* Starting Monday, we'll examine some of the Packers needs, position by position
with comments from Packers personnel and draft experts around the country.
I'll also keep you up to date on what's going on at 1265 Lombardi on both days
   of the draft next weekend.
