The Green Bay Packers could have put some real distance between themselves and the defending NFC Champion Chicago Bears with a win at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. But the Bears weren't quite ready to throw in the towel just yet.
The Packers committed five turnovers, three fumbles and two Brett Favre interceptions and the Bears took advantage to the tune of a 27-20 win at Lambeau Field.
It looked as if the Packers would run away and hide early, tallying nearly 350 yards of total offense in the first half alone, but they couldn't get anything going in the second half.
For the first time this season, the Packers running game showed some signs of life, rushing for 121 yards on 22 carries (5.5 avg), by far their highest output of the season, but just like the rest of the offense, the running game could manage just 20 yards in the second half.
The Packers also committed a number of costly penalties, 12 in all for 93 yards, which is part of the reason why the Bears were able to hang around and pull out the win.
The Packers fell to 4-1, while the Bears improve to 2-3. Green Bay plays host to the Washington Redskins this Sunday at Lambeau Field.
