Mike McCarthy has said it several times, it's never as good as it seems and it's never as bad as it seems.  We'll see if that theory holds true after the 34-6 loss at San Francisco on Saturday night.  Because it seemed pretty bad.

The Green Bay Packers continue to struggle on the offensive line, yet it's getting late and perhaps time to pick two guards and go with them.  They need to perform much better, but Mike McCarthy also needs to settle on two players and let this group work together for the final two preseason games.

And speaking of McCarthy, he called four run plays in the entire first half.  If the coach thinks he's going to win games in the regular season like that, he's sadly mistaken.   Brett Favre had plenty of problems trying to win under those circumstances and Aaron Rodgers certainly isn't any different.

The Packers were playing without a number of starters again on Saturday, so there is reason to believe that things will be better when those players are back.  And people are worried about Aaron Rodgers durability.  If the offensive line doesn't protect better than they did on Saturday night, then durability will certainly be an issue.

The 49ers seemed more aggressive on Saturday night and they clobbered the Packers with J.T. O'Sullivan as their quarterback.  That's not an encouraging sign.  But you know what the coach says, “It's never as bad as it seems.”  Packers' fans are hoping that is truely the case.
