Packers hire ball as teams salary cap guru

The Green Bay Packers have hired Russ Ball as the teams new vice president of football administration/player finance.  He replaces Andrew Brandt, who resigned last month.

Ball spent the last six seasons with the New Orleans Saints as vice president of football administration.  He was responsible for monitoring the Saints salary cap.

With the Packers, Ball will be responsible for negotiating player contracts, managing the salary cap and other football administrative duties.
