The Green Bay Packers are picking up momentum after rolling to a 31-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field. It's their second straight win and first at home this season. After a 1-4 start, the Packers improved to 3-4 and could pull even with a win at Buffalo this Sunday. It's the first back to back wins for the Packers since the 2004 season.
The Packers were productive on the ground, rolling up more than 200 yards rushing. Ahman Green racked up 106 yards on 21 carries and Vernand Morency 101 yards on 11 carries, becoming the first pair of Packer running backs to surpass 100 yards each in the same game in 21 years. Eddie Lee Ivory and Gerry Ellis last pulled it off in the 1985 Snowbowl game against Tampa Bay.
Defensively, the Packers held Arizona off the board until late in the first half. They sacked rookie quarterback Matt Leinart 4-times on the day, led by Aaron Kampman's two sacks. Kampman leads the NFL in sacks with 8 1/2.
Brett Favre also scored on a 1-year touchdown, his first rushing touchdown since the 2001 season. He celebrated by doing his first ever Lambeau Leap.
Arizona dropped to 1-7, losing for the 7th straight time. They'll take this week off as a part of the NFL's bye schedule. The Packers travel to Buffalo to face the Bills this Sunday.
