The Green Bay Packers don’t have a lot of time to search for answers.  In Sunday’s 26Clay Matthews 2-26 tie with the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers defense allowed Adrian Peterson rush for 146 yards and a touchdown.  To make matters worst, Toby Gerhart added 91 yards on only 8 carries.

The Packers need to get their rush defense issues fixed.  The problem is, there’s not a lot of time between now and Thursday’s game against the Lions.  In addition, the week will not included any padded workouts.

AUDIO: Clay Matthews on the struggles against the run :22

The Packers say their defense starts with stopping the run, yet they’ve done little of that over the last four games.

The players seem confused at their struggles.  They don’t seem to have many answers when asked about  the problem.

The Packers were better against the run earlier this season, but maybe those numbers were better disguised by the fact that the Packers played more often with the lead and teams had to abandon their running games.

Of late, it’s the Packers that have played from behind, which means teams can run or pass and there’s far less predictability involved in their offense.

The Packers have another important game right around the corner.  We’ll see if the run defense will show up against the Lions on Thanksgiving day.
