The Packers will be looking to stock the teams depth in this weekend's NFL Draft (April 26-27). It's likely they'll find a way to get some help in the defensive backfield, offensive line, quarterback, running back and tight end.
The tight end position is one that lacks star power in the first round, but the Packers, picking 30th in round one and again twice near the end of the second round, will have a list of several prospects to draw from.
The top tight end prospects are USC's Fred Davis, Texas A&M's Martellus Bennett and Purdue's Dustin Keller. You can also throw in Jermichael Finley out of Texas and John Carlson out of Notre Dame as possible late second round picks.
The Packers may not address that position need in the opening round. In fact, they may even trade down for more picks. But given the possibility of getting a decent prospect on day one at the tight end position, there's a good chance the Packers will try to land one.
Bubba Franks departure in Green Bay has left the Packers with Donald Lee as the only tight end with an experience. The Packers could use another weapon at that position to help new starting QB Aaron Rodgers.
