Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker will not play in tonight’s preseason opener against the Bulls in Chicago.

Parker practiced all four days in Madison last week, then took part in the Bucks open scrimmage at the Bradley Center on Saturday, scoring 15 points.  He followed that up with a full practice on Monday, but there is no need to rush things.

Parker played in just 25 games as a rookie before suffering a major knee injury that ended his season.

Even without Parker, the Bucks made the playoffs.  But there is no need to rush things at this point in time.

It’s not certain when Parker will play in a preseason game.  It could come Saturday against the Detroit Pistons at the Bradley Center.  Or, it could come beyond that game.

The Bucks won’t play in Chicago during the regular season until Jan. 5 and then again on March 7.  They play the Bulls at home on Jan. 12 and April 3.  Parker is looking forward to those matchups, when it counts.  The Bucks forward is from Chicago.

The Bulls will be without several key players tonight, including Pau Gasol, Derrick Rose, Mike Dunleavy, Taj Gibson and Kirk Hinrich.
