Andrii Toptun came from behind to win the 2008 Cellcom Green Bay Marathon on Sunday. Toptun passed a couple of Kenyan runners and cruised to the win in 2 hours, 22 minutes, 51 seconds.
Shadrack Muteri of Marietta, Georgia won the half-marathon in 1:04:38, while Derrick Fameree of Algoma defended his championship in the 5K.
Callen Areba was the women's winner. The Kenyan from Minnesota entered as the favorite to win and did. She crossed the finish line in 2:52:29.
Jenna Boren of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Menasha, won the women's half marathon in 1:19:40, while Sue Pierson of Neenah won the 5K race in 17:40.
All three races drew 7,288 runners, surpassing the 2007 record of 67-hundred.
