The Wisconsin Tavern League has more money these days to help impaired patrons get home safely.

Under a new state law, the Safe Ride program gets increased funding through a surcharge on drunk driving convictions.

Tavern League lobbyist Scott Stenger says funding had been a problem in the past. However, the new law gives the program $15 for each OWI conviction, which is used to provide cab rides home to bar patrons.
