Madison police looking for a man who shot and killed his ex wife last weekend have found his vehicle. The truck was found near Hoyt Park on Madison's west side, after a caller tipped off police. Weber has been on the run since police say he gunned down his ex wife on Saturday night at her Fitchburg apartment.
Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says Weber is familiar with the Hoyt Park area, having grown up near the 27 acre park, portions of which are heavily wooded. "It's a park with a lot of nooks and crannies, a lot of woods," said DeSpain, who also grew up in the area. A reverse 911 call has gone out to residents in that area, letting them know of the search by police along with the SWAT team.
UPDATE: Police have found a body in Madison's Hoyt Park which they believe to the suspect. MPD Spokesman Joel Despain says police are awaiting a positive ID on the body from the coroner but adds any threat that existed Tuesday has ended with the death of this individual. The man died from a self inficted gunshot wound.
