Turmoil continues to plague the Town of Beloit Police Department. The wife of a police sergeant apparently felt the need to bring a video camera to a meeting between her husband and Town Administrator Bob Museus Monday night, where a heated discussion took place.
The force has seen its share of upheaval in the past year involving an officer retiring one day before a disciplinary meeting, another reaching a settlement with the town after being accused of disloyalty, several others disciplined and even the chief being accused of discrimination.
The town board has now decided to hire Beloit Police Sergeant Laura Palmer. Museus says Palmer brings a lot of credibility and a fresh point of view to the department.
