Beloit Police responded early Thursday morning to the city’s second shooting in less than a week. Officers were called on a report of a man down, and who had possibly been shot, just before 12:30 a.mon the 500 block of 8th Street. They found the victim lying on the sidewalk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville with life-threatening injuries. Beloit Police were on scene all night collecting evidence, and continue to investigate the incident.

On Saturday night, three people were shot at Summit Park in Beloit. A 16-year-old died, and a 14-year-old and and 18-year-old were treated at local hospitals for gun shot wounds.
