The race for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin appears much closer than previous polls have indicated, according to the results of a poll released this week by the St. Norbert College Survey Center. The random sample of 402 registered likely voters found Republican challenger, Oshkosh businessman Ron Johnson, ahead of Democratic incumbent, Senator Russ Feingold, 49 percent to 47 percent. But the race is essentially too close to call, since the 2 point difference is within the poll’s margin of error of 5 percentage points. Ninety percent of those questioned said they were unlikely to change their minds about who they would vote for on November 2nd.
